# Registering as an App Developer

To publish applications for the Windows platform you must register as a developer in the developer portal called the **Microsoft Partner Center**. The portal allows publishing to the application store known as the **Microsoft Store**.

Registration is available online at: <https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-store/register/>.

Developer registration requires a one-time fee in US dollars, which differs for individual and corporate accounts.
